Bio
Carles Velat was born in Barcelona. He studied Filmmaking at the Idep School and later specialised in Screenwriting and Film Direction at the Centre d’Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya.

Academically, he has received several scholarships, including a students’ residency at Casa de América in Madrid as part of the 6th Course of Ibero-American Film Project Development, sponsored by Casa de América and Fundación Carolina.
He also received a scholarship from CoNCA (National Council for Culture and Arts) for a comparative study of theatrical and cinematic staging based on Ingmar Bergman’s work.
In 2019, he was selected for the València Pitch Forum with the feature film M, which is currently seeking funding from the production company Filmax under the direction of Albert Pintó.
